Researchers fault food stamp program
They say sugar is a silent killer, but that doesn’t deter those on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or food stamps, from spending over $2.1 billion on sugar-sweetened beverages, according to a new study.
The study, performed by Yale University, discovered that out of 39,000 families on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, 58% bought the sugar-laden drinks!
